NEON Enterprise Software Announces Broader Database Support for Corporate Data Retention Solution TITAN Archive
IMS Support Added to Existing DB2 and Oracle Functionality
SUGAR LAND, TX. – August 20, 2008 – NEON Enterprise Software, Inc., the technology leader in enterprise data management software and services, today announced that TITAN Archive, a database archiving solution that enables long-term retention of structured data, now supports IMS databases. The solution supported DB2 on z/OS and Oracle in its initial phase. With the addition of IMS, TITAN Archive is the only solution that directly accesses, archives and preserves IMS and DB2 mainframe data in its original format.
Because TITAN Archive is architected for long-term retention, companies can use TITAN Archive for storing data for applications that need to be decommissioned, or retained for legal or business reasons. TITAN Archive stores structured data for its legal life through a secure, sustainable archive store. With this solution in place, archived data is protected for the full length of its retention period, even if that is decades, in its authentic format. TITAN Archive reduces risk by ensuring archived data, which is tagged and stored with metadata, can be easily retrieved in a meaningful context through standard SQL queries.

Additionally, the solution’s discard policy deletes data at the end of its legal life, eliminating ongoing liability and freeing up valuable space when it becomes available.
This version of TITAN Archive provides extractors for DB2, Oracle and the newly added IMS platform. The extractors send data to TITAN Archive’s encapsulated archive store. Pricing is usage based, determined by the amount of data companies put into the archive store.
